Ex- Doctor Faces Assault Charges Against 38 Individuals in His Care

Prosecutors report that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

A senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Investigation

These allegations follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the 45 sexual offences comprise:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
