Coordinators of the "Anti-Monarchy" movement declared that events are scheduled at over 2,500 locations across the nation.
Based on demonstration coordinators, the last Anti-Monarchy gathering in June drew over five million attendees denouncing Trump's governmental direction.
Regional Measures
Governors in the Lone Star State and the Old Dominion have officially mobilized their local National Guard troops, though the level of military visibility remains unknown.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott referenced the "scheduled antifa-linked rally" as rationale for calling up regional troops.
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin correspondingly directed deployment of the commonwealth's National Guard units.
Partisan Responses
Protest leaders described the gatherings as challenge to Trump's "strong-arm tactics."
"The president thinks his power is total," participants argue on their online platform.
"Yet in this country, we reject absolute rulers and we refuse to yield against chaos, graft, and harshness."
Several Republicans have labeled the protests as "Hate America" events.
Kansas Senator Roger Marshall allegedly commented before the rallies: "We'll have to get the National Guard."
"Ideally it'll be non-violent. I have reservations," he added.
Critic Reaction
Democratic figures denounced the activation of military troops.
Texas Democrat Gene Wu argued: "Sending armed troops to suppress peaceful protests is precisely what dictators and tyrants do — and Greg Abbott just shown he's among them."
